The Trump administration is making the argument that the U.S. needs an overhaul of the tax code to get the economy going at a faster pace. We believe that it is worthwhile to review some of the arguments and examine closely not only the conclusions, but also the assumptions made in performing the analysis. Often the conclusions and interpretation are quite dependent on the assumptions made. Such an approach may allow us to separate the facts from the fallacies.
