In the latest survey, the economists were divided on when the Fed will increase the fed funds rate. Most believed that the next increase would come in June, but now most forecasts have the Fed moving rates in either July or September. The sluggish economy combined with the Fed not signaling any increases in their official statements is the reason for the change in the economists’ sentiments.
